Measurement of hyperfine constants and the isotope shift of rubidium 5P<sub>1/2</sub> excited-state using saturated absorption spectroscopy

Abstract The Saturated Absorption Spectroscopy (SAS) was performed to measure the hyperfine constants of rubidium 5P 1/2 excited state using an external-cavity diode laser (ECDL) operating at 795 nm. We report our measurements for magnetic dipole coupling 120.79(29) and 407.75(57) 85 Rb 87 respectively. Our measurement constant shows a good agreement with previous results resolves discrepancy that exists in literature.
